Terms and Conditions

What you buy from us, how you get it and when you get your money back.

This is a translation for your convenience. Only the German version is legally binding.

These terms apply to the website horselogbook.com and to everything you pay for there with credits. We answer questions about an order, a payment or a refund by email.

2. What we offer

You design a personal logbook for your horse, pony, donkey or mule: name, period, what is recorded each day, medication, format. From this we create a print-ready PDF, which you download and print yourself. We do not print anything and do not send anything.

Designing, flipping through the preview and saving drafts cost nothing. Only creating the PDF costs something.

3. Account

To create a PDF with credits you need an account. You sign in with a code that we send you by email – an account belongs to one person, and whoever has access to your mailbox has access to your account.

You can have your account deleted at any time; an email is enough. What happens to your data is explained in the Privacy policy. We keep receipts for purchases for as long as the law requires. If an account is misused – for instance to put an automated load on the website – we may block it; we then refund unredeemed bought credits pro rata.

4. Credits and prices

You pay with credits. How many credits a logbook costs and what the packs cost is shown on the Prices page. Prices are final prices in Swiss francs (CHF); the price shown at the time of purchase applies. There is no subscription: nothing renews by itself.

5. Payment

You buy credits on the Prices page or in ‘Your account’. You pay on a page run by Stripe, in one of two ways:

You enter your card details directly with Stripe; they never reach our server. The credits are in your account as soon as Stripe confirms the payment to us – usually straight away.

6. Delivery of the PDF

7. Refunds

Refunds go to the payment method you bought with. If you bought through Link, you can also contact Link’s support for this. If credits are refunded – by us or by Link –, we deduct them from your account again. We initiate the refund within five working days of your email; depending on your bank, it may take a few more days before it shows on your card or account. Swiss law gives no statutory right of withdrawal for purchases made online; the refund described here applies regardless.

8. Your details and your photo

You are responsible for what you write in the logbook. If you upload a photo for the cover, you must have the right to use it – which is almost always the case with your own photo. We use your details and your photo only to create your logbook and show it to you; none of it is published.

9. No substitute for your vet

The logbook is a form for making entries. It gives no information about health or treatment and does not replace veterinary advice. What you record and how you treat your animal is your decision – together with your vet.

10. Availability

We make sure the website runs, but we cannot guarantee this at all times – Horse Logbook is in beta. After a quiet period the first request can take up to a minute, because the server has to start first.

11. Liability

We are liable for damage we cause intentionally or through gross negligence. We are not liable for slight negligence, insofar as the law permits, and in any case only up to the amount you have paid us in the last twelve months.

12. Changes

These terms may change. The version in force is always published here, with its date. A purchase is governed by the version that was in force at the time of purchase.

13. Governing law and jurisdiction

Swiss law applies, excluding the Vienna Sales Convention (CISG). The place of jurisdiction is Zurich. If you are a consumer, you may also bring proceedings at your place of residence, and mandatory provisions protecting you at your place of residence remain reserved.
