We collect as little data as possible, keep it in Switzerland and never pass any of it on for advertising.

No advertising, no cookies

This site does not embed any services that track you across websites: no advertising networks, no social media buttons, no fonts from other servers. Your browser talks only to our server.

We set no cookies. That is why no banner asks for your consent here.

If you are signed in, your sign-in is kept in your browser’s storage (‘local storage’), not in a cookie. It disappears when you sign out.

If you come through a link with a gift – from print-your-horse-diary.com, for example – your browser also keeps its name there (‘tagebuch’), for 30 days at most, and sends it along when you create your account. After that it is gone. It is not passed to the visitor statistics.

Visitor statistics

So that we can see which pages are read and where people stop while designing, we count visits with Rybbit. We serve the script for this ourselves, and what it reports goes to our server first. From there, only this goes on to Rybbit:

which page you open and which website you came from. Of what comes after the ‘?’ in the address, only campaign tags such as ‘utm_source=qr’ – that is the QR code on the back of a logbook –, so that we can see how many people find us through a printed book;
language, screen size, browser and operating system, how fast the page loaded, errors in our scripts and clicks on links to other websites;
while designing, in broad steps: which step you open, which template, format, length and logbook language you choose, whether you sign in, upload a photo, save, create a PDF and download it – in ‘Your account’, whether you click ‘Buy credits’ and whether you view your logbooks as tiles or as a list – and in ‘Look inside’, which example you choose;
the address of your connection (IP address). From it, Rybbit determines country and place and, together with browser and operating system, forms an identifier from which the statistics recognise whether someone comes back. The address itself is not stored.

Never included: what you write in the form, your horse’s name, your email address, the photo. Nor is what you type recorded, and of your clicks only the ones just mentioned.

The script stores a random identifier in your browser’s storage (‘rybbit-visitor-id’). We do not send it – it belongs to a Rybbit feature that we do not use –, but it is there. If you do not want to be counted, switch it off for this browser here; the identifier is deleted when you do.

What data is collected

What you enter for the logbook: your horse’s name, the period, regular medication and the other details from the form. They appear in the created PDF – that is why you enter them. Who makes entries is not part of it: you write people’s initials into the printed book by hand.
A photo of your horse, if you put one on the cover – this is only possible with an account. Before we store it, we turn it the right way up, make it smaller and write it anew. In the process, everything a phone otherwise writes into a photo is lost: the location (GPS), the time it was taken, the device. Only this copy is stored, never the file you upload. Only your account can see the photo – and in the finished PDF it is on the cover.
When you buy credits: which pack, amount, currency, TWINT or card and the number of the payment at Stripe – so that we can add the credits to your account and match a refund. You enter your card or TWINT details with Stripe; we never see them.
Your email address, as soon as you sign in. It is the key to your account, and we send the sign-in code to it.
Technical data that every server sees when a page is requested: the address of your connection, the time, the page requested. It is used to run the service and to fend off misuse.

No sensitive personal data is collected. The health information concerns an animal.

How long

The finished PDF: until 30 days after the end of the period the logbook covers – but at least 30 days from creation. After that it is deleted automatically; the logbook itself stays in your account and can be created again free of charge.
Without an account, the order itself disappears together with the PDF. So download your PDF.
With an account, the details of your logbook (name, medication, settings) stay saved until you delete the logbook or your account – only the file disappears. That way you can find your logbook again later and create it again.
Photos: as long as a logbook in your account uses them. If you take a photo out of the logbook, replace it with another or delete the logbook, we delete the photo automatically after two days – that long so that it is still there if you only save a logbook the next evening.
Account: as long as it exists. On request we delete it together with all logbooks and photos. We keep receipts for bought credits for as long as the law requires.
Visitor statistics: Rybbit keeps the counted visits for three years – without the address of your connection.

Where the data is stored

Application and database: Microsoft Azure, Switzerland North region (Zurich).
Sign-in: Supabase, Zurich region. Your email address and your sign-in details are stored there; Supabase sends the code you sign in with. The logbooks themselves are not stored there.
Sending email: Infomaniak, Switzerland.
Payment: Stripe – and for card, Apple Pay and Google Pay also Link, a Stripe service that sells the credits as the merchant. For this, Stripe receives your email address and the payment details you enter there; Stripe companies in Ireland and the USA process them.
Visitor statistics: Rybbit, on servers of Hetzner in Germany and Finland. The connection to them runs through Cloudflare, a company in the USA.

Your rights

You can ask what data we hold about you, have it corrected and ask for your data to be deleted. A message to the address above is enough.
