Several people make entries An ‘Initials’ field in every day row and a list of initials at the front to fill in by hand. Untick it if only you make entries. ‘Who comes when’ plan A grid with every day of the period at the front, to fill in by hand – for sharers, carers or holidays: whose turn is it on which day?

4Daily observation

Record a value from 0 to 4 every day For example cough, lameness or itching. Comes with the scale at the front and the year at a glance. Untick it for a logbook without complaints.

What is being observed? Printed in every day row. Short words stay large, long ones are set smaller.

What do the values mean? 0 1 2 3 4 Clears the title and all five texts so you can enter your own scale. Levels left empty are printed as ‘none, slight, moderate, strong, very strong’.

5Medication

Record medication A ‘Med / Dose / AM Mid PM’ row on every day and the ‘Regular medication’ page. Untick it for one more writing line per day.

Medication your horse gets regularly. It is printed on the ‘Regular medication’ page; the table leaves room for changes.

6Feeding

Feed row on every day A ‘Feed’ row with a box per meal to tick off. Costs one writing line per day. ‘Feeding plan’ page A table to fill in by hand: what is fed at which meal (‘2 kg hay’). Your regular medication is already in it, because it is usually given with the feed.

The meals, up to four. Empty fields are left out.

7Training

Boxes to tick Up to three per day, for example ‘Rest, Eating, Work’ (when the cough occurs) or ‘Riding, Lunging, Paddock’
